Purple potter policy Information ~ Each adult and child's safety is paramount on all Purple Potter courses therefore we are pleased to explain the great lengths that we go to, to ensure quality and safety of our activities. Our Registers ~ Detailed registers with all emergency telephone contact numbers and those authorised to collect each child are requested prior to any child participating in the pottery clubs. Registers also detail medical conditions, allergies and special requirements for every child if applicable Registers are taken at the start of every session Parents are requested to update all contact information to ensure all information is correct for each club they attend. Our Staff ~Wear a Purple Potters ID badge at all times whilst delivering activities Undertake regular training and assessmentHave undertaken an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure Are in possession of the Company Folder at all times which details policies, procedures and strategies, as well as relevant qualifications, accreditation and CRB disclosure certificate Are in possession of a first-aid kit at all times Are in possession of mobile phones at all times in case of an emergency. Our Venues ~Our venues are schools, local authority facilities or quality private grounds All venues pass rigorous checks on the quality of the toilets and health and safety issues All venues are sufficiently secure and well maintained All areas, as well as equipment, are checked prior to the start of every session Adequate car parking is available for parents Adequate disabled facilities are provided Accident Procedures ~All incidents, however minor, are reported immediately to the course coordinator The course coordinator is required to complete an ‘Accident Notification Form’ for all significant injuries, including all head injuries, which must be signed by the parent on collection of their child. Child Protection ~Staff wear an ID badge at all times while delivering activities A signed parental consent must be submitted to the Purple Potters Head Office prior to the start of a course to authorise children to walk home alone or to be collected by someone else A signed parental consent form must be submitted to the Purple Potters Head Office and the course coordinator to authorise photographs to be taken of the children participating in activities for promotional purposes Behaviour Policy ~ Our Behaviour Policy aims to allow everyone engaged in Purple Potters programmes to work together in an effective, considerate and co-ordinated way with the common purpose of promoting positive behaviour and helping everyone learn and enjoy their experiences. This will be achieved through a positive and consistent approach allowing Potters to accept and take responsibility for their own decisions and actions and for their consequences. Purple Potter Assistants ~ Be aware of their influence as role models Engender a positive and welcoming atmosphere and environment Treat all participants with respect Support schools and adhere to school policies in the management of all pupil behaviour Are responsible for individual pastoral welfare of the pupils in their care Participants ~All participants are fully aware of the behaviour expected of them and of the rewards and consequences of their behaviour The Purple Potter rules (see below) are positively presented Rules -Each Potter will have the same set of standard Purple Potter rules for their group based around: Expectations of good listening, behaviour and manners Respect Safety provisions Effort and enjoyment Insurance ~ Purple Potters has extensive Public Liability insurance to cover all participants and activities We do not accept responsibility for any death, personal injury or loss of or damage to personal property.We do not offer one to one tuition due to the needs of other potters during group workshops. Care assistants are welcome to support potters who they feel feel would benefit one on one support
